Drowsy is closing March 31. The sim was designed and built by BettiePage Voyager and went through a number of incarnations. For a while it was a beautiful but mysterious village full of charming spots to hang out in. Lately it has been a sweet rural scene with decaying remains of buildings with strange gatherings in the woods and under the water. BettiePage is one of the most skilled, imaginative and quirky designers I have come across in sl. As a parting gesture BettiePage has a small hunt of twenty books containing tiny dioramas, odd creatures and antique cans of food. I don't know why the SIM is closing or what BettiePage's plans are but I will miss visiting Drowsy and would like to thank her for sharing her amazing work.
Menswear Fashion Week is also ending so pop over if you want to grab this mesh sweater and some shiny new shoes.
Just a quick throw-together, lol. I'm having lots of issues with the new Firestorm release which won't even auto-update when taking pictures. Anyone so inclined, please file a JIRA.
You can also buy individually the mesh shirt in 6 colors (Purple, Grey, Green, Brown, Blue, and Black) and 5 sizes (XS, S, M, L, XL). It's worth 70L each. The trackers too are available in 4 colors (white, black, blue, and green) and can be grabbed from the vendors for only 120L.
Lot's of hunts wrapping up and new group gifts appearing. The shirt is from a hunt at Lash-Ware and the pants are part of the new group gift at GizzA. Mr. Hunter is setting up a store directly across from Lash-Ware and if you peek in you can scoop these loafers from Loordes of London for 1/2 price! Lots of other deals and goodies are on their way.
Introducing the new line of mesh products from Gabriel. The Dollarbie T-Shirts come in 3 different sizes so should fit easily but try the demo of the pay items first to see how much change (e.g. reduction of body fat, smaller sized muscles) to your shape might be necessary.
Sorry I've not been posting much. I got a little distracted at people fighting. Had that sudden urge again to drop in and say something to them like, "Cookie, anyone?"
Dunno if it's going to be helpful. I mean, the last time I said something like that was when there were two chicks fighting in one of the groups I'm in. Yes, yes. I know it's a mortal sin to break off a girl fight, but it was clear that there wasn't going to be any mud wrestling or any sort like that involve any time soon. They were just talking and arguing, and making everyone tense and uncomfortable.
Soooo you know... I just did the first thing that came to mind.
I yelled out,"Boobies!"
There was peace afterwards.
People forgot about the argument and started talking about breasts, which in my opinion is a far far FAR better topic. *happy face*
With that in mind, head over to Death Row Designs and hit this MM board.
How does that connect to the introduction, you ask? Beats me, but you're going to get cool boots if you're going to hop on this taxi.
but the constant attention, the demands for autographs and the barrage of flash lights made him weary. Therefore, he decided to cut his beard, cut and dye his hair, dress more flamboyantly and finally get some serious shopping done.
Fashion + Freebies for Men (FFforM) is holding its first Photo Contest from March 15th till April 15th, 2012with a
=> Grand Prize of 10,000 L$ in Cash sponsored by Gabriel <=
going to the winner and two more cash prizes as well as numerous gift cards going to the runners-up.
Who can participate? Everybody who is older than March 1st, 2012 and never blogged for FFforM. If you are a girl you can use your male alt or take a photograph of your boyfriend.
What do we expect from you?We want you to create a blog posting consisting of one picture (full body shot or containing at least one full body shot if you are showing multiple poses) and a style card. We have designed a notecard for you to fill out so that you won't overlook anything. Join our group “Fashion Freebies for Men“ (copy this link into SL public chat --> secondlife:///app/group/554e1976-3389-178e-9d9d-cbe15a49982b/about < -- and click it to join). Then download the notecard from group notices. It will also tell you where to send the completed form.
What should your blog posting be about?Show us your favourite male look! To make matters more challenging for you, every item you use for your look must be from a different designer.
Where will your blog posting be published? We will upload all pictures/style cards to this Photo Gallery (we put a clickable link to it in the sidebar). If you do not see your entry pop up there 5 days after sending it to us we recommend that you resend it because it may have gotten lost somehow. All entries qualifying for a prize will be posted on the blog as well.
What else should you consider? Keep your picture PG = no nudity! You can wear any freebie or pay item you like but don't use copybotted items or we have to disqualify you. Also, it would be great if most of your items on the style card are still available for other readers to get.
What size should the picture have? Whether you decide to take a simple photo or to use insert pictures to highlight details or to merge two images into one, your final picture should ideally be square size. Small deviations don't matter but the more rectangular it is the more distorted it will be when we upload it for publication to the Photo Gallery.Read here how to take square size pictures in SLif you don't want to resize your picture manually afterwards.
Should you post-edit your picture? Putting some finishing touches to your picture is often useful. Since all texture details of your outfit should be nicely visible, a lack of brightness and/or sharpness can be corrected this way. Still, to get the best working material to start with make sure that your graphics settings in SL (check under edit, preferences) are set to High or Ultra before you take the picture!
Thanks for participating in our contest and good luck! Here's an overview of the prizes awaiting the winners:
2. Prize - 1,500 L$ in cash sponsored by Fashion + Freebies for Men

If you've gone to the Volta sim at FFL 2012, Styles of Edo is a must-visit. Four of their Fashion for Life tuxes are down to 300L$. I got the Step Lapel one and wore it with SF's past dress shoes group gift, Edmund. Speaking of which, I also grabbed SF Design's rancher boots that were put up for 55L last Friday's sale. It's not there anymore, but check out how beautifully-made the pair is.
The skin I'm wearing is Heartsick's group gift Ritsu. Actually, I got this as a hunt item in FFL, so I had to pay a small fee. But if you've joined Heartsick's group, you can take it from the notices for free. I don't mind paying 50L though. Heartsick's skins are awesome and the small price would help cancer research anyway.
